Well David....I think that you have done a wonderful job on
your pages...I can't wait to see what you will do next.
(I hope you don't mind...I just couldn't resist dropping a
line).

I have always liked Weir since I saw Moscuito Coast. Its like reading
National Geographics or something, and at the same time get a wonderful
movie experience!!!
By the way, its nice with non-american moviemakers for a change...

Sorry, I don't have a Home Page and I haven't had much to do with the
internet so if you want to teach me feel free - I'm open for suggestions
on becoming 'internet wise'.
My english class this year studied Peter Weir as he is the best Australian
director to come out of this country. In all honesty I really disliked
'The Cars That Ate Paris' but many of his other films such as 'Fearless',
'Dead Poets Society' and 'Witness' are some of my most favourite fimls
ever.
Anyway that is all I feel like commenting about, see ya 'round.

This was great information for my term paper about Peter
Weir as an auteur.

I just finished watching Fearless on video tape. I had
no idea what it was, just picked it up because it was by
Peter Weir. It took me completely by surprise-- fantastic.
I couldn't quite bear to just leave the space of the film
when it was over, so I looked for Weir and Fearless on Alta
Vista, and was treated to the interview with Weir on this
site. Thanks!

This is a very interesting collection of information..the articles
are fantastic. Dead Poets has been performed as a play in
a Sydney school and I think Peter Weir was at the opening
last year.

By stray happenchance I ended up finding the Weir page. He's a fine director. Are you aware of his working relationship with his DP (Director of Photography)? They are almost of one mind and work incredibly quickly on the set. Fascinating to watch.

You're so cool! Good on ya for putting Peter Weir on the net cause I couldn't find him anywhere. He's a good man. I just wish he was more widely appreciated, you know.

Director Weir and composer Jarre are the best combination
in contemporary film. Can't wait to see what's next!

Your Page is terrific. I also think Peter is one of the top directors living. Would you happen to know the name of his production company?

It's great to see all this interest in Peter Weir. Personally, I feel his Aussie films are the best. Especially Gallipoli and The Cars that Ate Paris. Have you seen Homesdale? It's one of the weirdest films ever with cameos by local TV personalities and Weir himself. DEAD POETS SOCIETY was also my inpsiration to get involved in film-making.
-October 22, 1996 at 06:20:00 (AST)
I think Weir is the best director ever.

Peter Weir is a cinematic genius. The measure of a great director is the ability to work in different genres and he has done it as well as anyone. I'm glad you created this page. Keep up the good work.

At the start of Kieslowski "Tres Couleurs: Rouge" (Three Colours: Red) there's a compliment to Peter Weir - the film "Dead Poet's Society" is named and praised by two of the characters.
